Fence Damaged by High Front Range Winds or an Unsecured Gate?
Call our Colorado Springs team directly. We prioritize emergency temporary securing so pets and property stay safe, followed by a written rebuild quote.
Why Colorado Springs Fences Require Local Engineering
Why do Colorado Springs fences need local wind and freeze-thaw planning? The Pikes Peak Region creates demanding environmental forces that standard fence installation methods cannot survive. We align our structural post setting and gate bracing with NOAA regional climate normals, ASTM Committee F14 standards, and American Fence Association guidelines.
Downslope Chinook Winds & Storms
Chinook downslope winds regularly batter Colorado Springs with 70–90 mph gusts, causing sudden wind damage fence repair emergencies. Solid privacy fencing acts like a sail unless secured with a 24-inch concrete footing and three heavy-duty 2x4 rails. We engineer wind-resistant fence durability with steel posts or ventilated shadowbox layouts for exposed properties.
Expansive Bentonite Clay & Frost Heave
With 15.91 inches of precipitation, 32.5 inches of snowfall, January lows around 18.5°F, and July highs reaching 86.5°F, El Paso County soil undergoes severe freeze-thaw cycles. Expansive bentonite clay heaves shallow footings. Setting fence posts 24 inches deep in 100 lbs of concrete anchors your line below the frost heave depth and prevents winter freeze-thaw movement.
Foothill Slopes & Rocky Soil
From a sloped lot near Cheyenne Mountain and Manitou Springs to rocky ground across Fountain and Falcon, terrain demands custom stepped or racked fence panels. We eliminate bottom gaps to maintain strict pet enclosure security, prevent dogs from escaping, and protect against wildlife intrusions.
What Fence Materials Work Best for Colorado Springs Properties?
Choosing the right fence material selection depends on privacy goals, wind exposure, soil stability, and pet safety across the Pikes Peak Region. We install custom residential enclosures, pool fencing, and commercial fencing engineered for Front Range conditions.
Western Red Cedar Fencing

We use naturally rot-resistant Western Red Cedar with lifetime ceramic screws. We also advise on timely fence staining to protect lumber against intense high-altitude UV radiation.

When Should a Wind-Damaged Fence Be Repaired or Replaced?
Severe Front Range downslope windstorms, bomb cyclones, and winter storms frequently knock down fence sections across Colorado Springs. Can a fence contractor help with storm-damage documentation? Yes. Our storm damage fence repair Colorado Springs team photographs damaged panels, footings, and gate hinges to support your homeowner insurance claim.
When Repair Is the Smart Choice
Targeted Fix- Only one or two isolated fence posts are leaning while surrounding pickets remain sound.
- A gate was torn off hinges by high winds but the wood framing is uncracked.
- Fallen tree branches cracked 3–6 cedar pickets with backer rails intact.
- Post footing can be reset 24 inches deep in fresh concrete without rebuilding the perimeter.
We straighten, brace, and reinforce sound fence sections to maximize remaining fence lifespan.
When Full Replacement Is Necessary
Total Rebuild- More than 30% of the fence posts are rotted through at grade or snapped off.
- Extensive wood dry-rot, severe warping, and loose nail shanks across all rails.
- Repeated frost-heave shifting has thrown the entire boundary line out of plumb.
- The original fence was constructed with undersized posts or inadequate concrete.
Full tear-out and fence replacement with 24-inch footings and ceramic screws prevents ongoing repair bills.
Storm Damage Insurance Documentation Tips
Before cleaning up storm debris after high Chinook winds or bomb cyclones, photograph every damaged post, fallen panel, broken hinge, and neighboring structure. We provide itemized written estimates detailing storm damage fence repair costs to assist your homeowner insurance claim.

Colorado Springs CraftsmanshipWhat Colorado Springs Homeowners Say About Jeremy's Fences
Rated 4.9★ across 83 Google reviews. Real Pikes Peak region customers on our craftsmanship, wind resilience, and honest estimates.
“Jeremy and his team did a great job with our fence and gate rebuild! He got us in earlier on their schedule since we were missing a gate to our yard. Great craftsmanship and fair price based on amount of work and comparing quotes in the area. Highly recommend.”
“Hi Amy! Thank you for leaving us a great review! We appreciate the opportunity! David Milner”
“Jeremy did an outstanding job replacing a fence gate after the Colorado spring winds tore it off the hinges! The new gate was so much better than the one he replaced - super sturdy and with a great, very solid latching mechanism. We also had him build a gate on the deck at the top of the stairs, to keep our little Dachshund from trying to get down the stairs and potentially hurt herself. The gate is so solidly built; I’d say both gates were even “over-engineered” with their solid construction. Lastly, we asked Jeremy to fix the mechanism on our lower yard gate; he replaced the poorly functioning one with his solid gate closing mechanisms, and even re-engineered the gate to accept the new mechanism. Lastly, despite the huge number of damaged/destroyed fences due to the aforementioned storm, he got to us within a week and his communication was solid. Definitely recommend Jeremy and his business - he’s now on speed-dial for us for any future needs in this area!”
“Hey David, thank you for taking the time to leave us such a fantastic review. It truly means a lot. I will always be happy to help, just bear with me as you said, it is a busy time. Wishing you the best. samantha torres”
